Southwest University Students

Dear Students,

Southwest University continues to be proactive in tracking and responding to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation daily. In response to the local government’s request, all schools have been asked to delay students return from spring break until April 6th.

Southwest University will follow the cities guidelines and begin the spring term semester on April 6th. Remote instruction will continue throughout the duration of the current semester.

We understand the inconvenience this may provide for some students. However, the health and safety of the campus community is of the upmost importance. Southwest University is grateful for the cooperation of students, and will continue to give updates through and SU Learning.

I am writing this email just to tell you about my experience here at Southwest University.  I am 32 years old and have over 7 yrs experience managing big companies.  I have had some of the most successful businessman in El Paso mentor me and train to be the head of companies, but I have never came across someone as brilliant and sharp as Dr Baird.

I’m pretty set in my ways but instead of just trying to get a degree, Dr B has changed me from being close minded to being open minded.  He just doesn’t teach the class he challenges how we think.  I feel for the first time in a long time I am able to look and approach things in a different manner than I know.  I just wanted to let you know that I don’t look at Southwest as just a degree now.  I feel myself evolving and turning into a better leader.  It would be nice to know that you are impacting students more than just a paper.

Instructors like Dr Baird are assets to the education system and should be recognized.  Thank you to your Southwest University team and look forward to continuing my journey with you guys.

The BSN degree program at Southwest University is a dynamic online program designed by RNs for RNs This program was designed to meet the needs of the working professional, with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

The program focuses on preparing students to participate at different levels of leadership within their nursing practice as members of the healthcare industry. The online platform and support system are designed to engage and inspire the nursing professional to give high-quality care and contribute to their community.

Practice experiences are woven into the curriculum and can often be accomplished on the job, at your workplace.

This means you will have professional clinical experiences, but not have traditional clinical rotations. These experiential learning activities enhance the curriculum and allow students to apply their knowledge in the online learning community and in their current professional role.
