Our SU Ophthalmology students joined forces with the Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (TLERC) creating The Ophthalmic Technician Program to help read and neutralize glasses that will soon reach people around the world through medical missions.
This hands-on collaboration not only strengthens our students’ clinical skills but also reminds us of the greater purpose behind education: serving others.
Each pair they read and bag brings someone closer to clearer vision — proof that knowledge can change lives.
