Step 2

Choose the program and study date of your preference. Complete the admission application and ensure you bring all required documentation.

Requirements for obtaining the Student Visa:

    • Study Relationship – Cardex (in case of subject validation)
    • Copy of High School Certificate
    • Copy of Passport and/or Tourist Visa
    • Copy of TOEFL results:
      • 450 paper-based, 133 computer-based, or 45 internet-based
      • For more information on TOEFL, visit this page: www.toeflgoanywhere.org
    • Copy of Bank Statement
    • Total Amount Required in Bank Statement:
      • The most recent bank statement must include the minimum required annual amount.

Refer to the form: Scholarship Program and Tuition Cost.

International students will receive an institutional scholarship to help reduce monthly payments. The scholarship amount depends on the chosen program and validated subjects. Tuition only includes the cost of classes and other material and equipment costs. Tuition does not cover expenses related to books or electronic devices (iPad and/or Mac).

The student must prove sufficient income to cover housing and other expenses. These costs are approximate estimates of what is needed to study and reside in the United States. Remember that these expenses are only required for the student visa application and will not be required by the school.

Schedule a meeting with the Director of the International Student Office to submit the necessary documents and obtain the original I-20 form.

If the student cannot attend in person, all documents must be sent via email. Once all documents are received, the original I-20 document will be sent to the student.

    Step 3

Schedule an appointment with the embassy of your nation to process the student visa.

Instructions for obtaining the visa can be found on the following website:

    http://www.ice.gov/sevis/students/

The U.S. consulate requires a service fee to process the student visa (I-901 Fee, $350).

    Step 4

After obtaining the visa, you will be ready to start your classes!

Don’t forget to make your first monthly payment before starting classes. Subsequent monthly payments must be completed by the 15th of each month.

Your admissions advisor will provide you with all the necessary details for your first day, including your class schedule.

Welcome to the Southwest University family in El Paso!
